The Council of Ministers has endorsed a national strategy for the development of the mining industry until 2030 with a top priority – the sustainable development of the mining industry in Bulgaria. Other priorities include: guaranteeing a stable investment environment, introducing an effective control systemof the prospecting, extraction and processing of underground natural resources and prevention of illegal mining in the country. Under the strategy, by 2030 Bulgaria should be a regional leader in the rational utilization of underground natural resources.
