Ambassadors criticize the rejecting of anti-corruption draft bill

On September 2 Bulgaria’s National Assembly rejected at first reading the draft bill against high level corruption, and that is a negative sign in the context of the fight against corruption, is the opinion of voiced in a joint letter by the ambassadors to Sofia of the Netherlands, France, Germany, Great Britain, Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Poland, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Cyprus, Spain and Luxembourg. The ambassadors of Norway and Switzerland also voiced support for this joint stand. The efficient fight against corruption is a crucial element in the supremacy of the law and we expect the unsuccessful voting of this bill not to mean that MPs are underestimating the significance of the phenomenon, the letter further reads.
