Bulgaria needs independent institution on science and innovations

“The funding of science and research in this country should reach 1.5 percent of GDP by 2020,” said Minister of Education and Science Todor Tanev at a forum on the reforms in science and innovations within the EU member-states, also attended byEU Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science Carlos Moedas. According to him Bulgaria needs an independent institution for science and innovations. The EU commissioner pointed out that it was among the recommendations in the report on Bulgaria under the mechanism for support of research and innovation policy under the Horizon 2020 program. One of the recommendations in the report is the Bulgarian universities and the BAS to adopt the European Charter for Researchers.
