Free-trade zone to be launched in Bulgaria under 16+1 initiative.

A delegation of Bulgaria’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food signed in China an agreement for construction of a free-trade zone within the frameworks of 16+1 Initiative ( between China and16 countries from Central and Eastern Europe). According to the document, China will invest at least EUR 50 million in new commercial infrastructure in the Euro-Chinese Economic Zone Trakia (Thrace) in Plovdiv (Central South Bulgaria). Bulgaria and China also inked a memorandum for cooperation in the introduction of new equipment and technologies in the agriculture field.
