Winter in most loved pop songs

Celebrating its 80th anniversary, Radio Bulgaria welcomes you to monthly voting for music from Bulgaria. Lots will be drawn to select the names of the winners - people who have guessed the winning song or tune - and three of them are going to win CDs with music in the respective genre. To vote, please send us an e-mail at english@bnr.bg. Results are announced on or around the 15th of every month. We continue with the three new songs which provide three images of winter in the Bulgarian pop music over the last 50 years.
1.  Snegat na Spomena /Snow of Memory/ 1966 – composed by P. Stupel, written by Alexander Mikhailov, in the rendition of Georgi Minchev
One of the best Bulgarian winter ballads, recorded with the participation of flute player Simeon Shterev, proclaimed at the same time best jazz flutist in Europe and also with the Dimov Quartet, gathering popularity then in Bulgaria and later on worldwide.
2.  Byala Pesen /White Song/ 1971 – composed by Dimitar Valchev, written by Petar Karaangov and performed by Pasha Hristova. That was the song, recorded by Pasha just before her death in a plane crash on 21 December 1971. She participated with the piece in the Melody of the Year contest, won by her posthumously in January 1972.
3.  Zima /Winter/ 1985 – composed by Toncho Rusev, lyrics by Petar Karaangov, in the rendition of Tonika SV. One of the best winter ballads of the 1980s, included by the band in its third long-playing plate.

"Az Ne Sam Doshal, Kalino" /I Didn’t Come, Kalino/ in the rendition of Nedyalka Keranova and the Folklore Music Orchestra of the BNR and songer Nedyalko Nedyalkov and the Aria of the Rhodopes share this time the top of the list of favorite folklore songs among listeners of Radio Bulgaria in November.
The draw has selected those who will receive a gift - CD with the latest production of the BNR. And they are:  Alan Roe and Sergei Rogov from the UK and Bernd Seiser from Germany.
