Sofia shocked with Manchester terrorist attack

Addressing a letter to British Prime Minister Theresa May, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov has expressed condolences to the families of the killed and injured citizens in the wake of the terrorist attack in Manchester. In his message Borissov has voiced firm conviction that with joint efforts of the British authorities and based on cooperation with the governments of Britain’s allies the perpetrators of this atrocious act will be found and brought to justice. Bulgarian Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva has commented that the use of any form of violence is unacceptable as a tool of attaining political, economic or ideological objectives. For an evaluation of the situation in Bulgaria in the context of the Manchester attack Interior Minister Valentin Radev has summoned the national operational center for a discussion whether the degree of readiness should be raised and security measures for guarding strategic sites such as airports railway stations and ports should be enhanced.
