Today is Spanish Language Day

Today, 24 June, is Spanish language Day, marked every year on the last Saturday of June, said for the BNR Javier Valdivielso, Director of the Cervantes Institute in Sofia and added:

“Spanish Language Day has been organized in Bulgaria since 2007. It is a festival organized at all Cervantes institutes in the whole world and it is connected with the end of the academic year and the beginning of summer. For the third year running we are closing Sveta Sofia St. and we shall celebrate in front of the institute building.

From 11 AM until 4 PM we will have an open-air programme featuring a host of events - concerts with music from Spain and Latin America, a street circus, as well as children’s applied arts studios, Mexican and Spanish cuisine with dishes cooked out in the open. All people who have decided to come and join us can buy a book in Spanish or Spanish-language literature translated into Bulgarian.”
