One in five applicants for a migration status in Bulgaria is uneducated and half of the adults who have sought asylum have a low education status. A mere 5% have university diplomas. This is seen in figures released by the State Agency for Refugees. The Agency also reports a decline in the migration flow to Bulgaria. Statistics suggest that close to two-thirds of migrants in this country are men. Their distribution by country of origin remains unchanged. Since the beginning of the year the largest number of persons looking for asylum are nationals of Afghanistan (1000), followed by nationals of Syria and Iraq.
