The European Parliament has given a green light to the creation of European Public Prosecutor's Office. It will be established under EU’s enhanced cooperation procedure, as 20 member states, including Bulgaria will take part in the process.

In order for the European Public Prosecutor's Office to start operation, the agreement of the Council of the European Union is required.

The EU Public Prosecutor's Office will be investigating the misuse of EU funds and VAT frauds in cases when at least two member states were involved and when damage reaches at least 10 million euros, BNR correspondent Angelina Piskova reported.
