The exhibition The Little Man in the Great War arranged at the Museum of Military History in Sofia explores the participation of Bulgaria in the First World War. Visitors are invited to learn more about military operations and the consequences from them for the average person. Despite the fear of death, the exploits and courage of the Bulgarian soldiers were extraordinary. This assumption is based on evidence from survivors and on a range of artefacts. One of the items on show is a watch that saved the life of a soldier and the gun of another soldier who died near Constanta. A rich collection of photographs and personal evidence are also part of the display. The exhibition is on until end-February 2018.
