At a joint press conference with High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini Bulgarian Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva stated that at the Sofia-held Gymnich meeting of the EU’s foreign ministers consensus was achieved for maximum close cooperation with the Western Balkan states in regard to security, the migrant crisis, the energy sphere and also to economic and social development. Federica Mogherini proclaimed that on April 24 – 25th Brussels would host a second conference on Syria, as the situation there had been getting more difficult and dramatic in days. According to Mogherini, the discussions with the Balkan foreign ministers, held within the frames of the Sofia forum pointed at unification around the common goal for the EU to guarantee the European perspective and common future for our partners in the region.
