I am confident that NATO's southern flank is defended reliably by Turkey and that more and more European countries join our tone of voice for normalization of relations so that we can spend more money on infrastructure, education, culture and friendship rather than on building fences and ramparts again, which costs billions.

This is what Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov has said in a statement after a meeting with Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, Dnevnik daily reported.

Infrastructure projects in the region have been central to the talks between the two officials.
