Following talks in Sofia with the Prime Minister of Cabo Verde José Ulisses de Pina Correia e Silva, his Bulgarian counterpart Boyko Borissov stated that unlike many countries in Europe Bulgaria is not burdened with problems with Africa in the past and has serious intentions for investments in that country.

As spheres of special investment interest Borissov pointed to tourism and business.

Saying that the Medical University in Sofia trains students from Cabo Verde, PM Silva said that his country would benefit from furtherance of cooperation with Bulgaria in education.

Later, the Prime Minister of Cape Verde also met National Assembly President Tsveta Karaiancheva, expressing hope to build strong contacts in the field of tourism and investments between the two countries. He pointed out that Cape Verde had a special partnership program with the European Union and that the visa regime for European citizens will be dropped in May.
