A selfie with Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa is the biggest hit among the foreign tourists visiting the Louvre Museum in Paris. Bulgaria’s photographer Nikola Mihov who lives between Sofia and Paris dedicated four years of his career to the photos that capture in an incredible way faces of tourists standing in front of Mona Lisa at the Louvre. The tourists are becoming more exalted and along with the European and the American tourists a lot of Asian visitors are also becoming part of the selfie mania, which is perhaps due to the economic conjuncture. I was inspired by the aesthetics of the photos and the whole jam. It is very difficult to take photos in this jostle and the crowd often does the job instead. You can see parts of arms, feet and ears on every photo and this is part of the whole atmosphere, the Bulgarian photographer says. His photographic exhibition My Lisa can be seen until May 2 at SYNTHESIS gallery in Sofia.
