This evening the National Archeology Institute with Museum (NAIM) with the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences is to open an exhibition entitled “Sports in ancient Thrace”. The aim is to show the place and role of sports in Thracian culture during the Hellenic and the Roman periods, as it was strongly influenced by the ancient Greco-Roman civilization. Parallel to that the collection shows the rich historical and cultural heritage across the Bulgarian lands, viewed through the prism of sports games in antiquity. Photo: BTA
