Public service media carry out exceptionally important cultural, educational and public functions: Tsveta Karayancheva

The role of public service media in the European Union and their future development was central to the talks of National Assembly President Tsveta Karayancheva and the Director General of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) Noel Curran. The guest is in Bulgaria for the meeting of public service media from Southeast Europe organized by the Bulgarian National Radio.

The meeting today was joined by the chairs of the Budget and Finance Committee Menda Stoyanova and of the Culture and Media Committee Vezhdi Rashidov, as well as by the directors of the Bulgarian National Radio and the Bulgarian National Television, Alexander Velev and Konstantin Kamenarov, the press office of the National Assembly said.

Public service media carry out an exceptionally important cultural, educational and public functions, Tsveta Karayancheva has pointed out. In turn, Noel Curran has said that trust levels for public service media are increasing, as trust in social media platforms declines.
