The Bulgarian government adopted new rules for providing financial support to the Bulgarian weekend schools abroad. They are based on the form of education and the pupils’ participation in additional activities aimed at preserving the national consciousness, culture and traditions. Each year Bulgaria’s state budget provides financing to the following subjects taught abroad: Bulgarian language, literature, history and civilization, Bulgarian geography, as well as to additional school activities assisting that education. The new rules provide opportunity for electronic education with part time classes and online distance learning. A new electronic system will count the allocations. Thus, the administrative burden and the size of the school documentation of the organizations of the Bulgarians living abroad will be reduced.
