Tomorrow the team of the crisis center against animal plague outbreaks in Bulgaria will meet with the parliamentary floor leaders to acquaint them in detail with the situation, Interior Minister Valentin Radev said. He attended the first meeting of the crisis center which is lined up with the leadership of the Ministry of Interior and of the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency, as well as the Minister of Agriculture and Food Rumen Porozhanov.

Recommended precautions include in the first place, cancelation of festivals and other large gatherings and events in the regions close to the border with Turkey. Control at border checkpoints over transportation of foods that contain pork is being strengthened. The third key precaution is mandatory daily cleaning of the 10-km zone before border controls.

In the meantime, payment of compensations to farmers whose sheep and goats were slaughtered in the wake of animal plague outbreaks has begun.
