Bulgarians consume an average of 3.5 litres of ice cream per year

In 2017, Bulgaria has produced some 26 million litres of ice cream and is ranked 16th among EU countries, according to Eurostat. Thus, the average annual consumption of ice cream in this country was about 3.5 litres per person, which is below the EU average, where the annual consumption was about 6 litres. Over 20 are the companies in the country producing ice cream, with three of them falling in the Top 10, accounting for about 70 percent of the production and consumption of the sweet dessert. Some of the leading manufacturers have already found markets in Romania, Albania, Macedonia, Kosovo, and Italy.
