The Minister for the Bulgaria Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2018 Lilyana Pavlova has pointed to two key messages in the annual State of the Union speech of European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker – democracy and unity. She has said that Bulgaria has played that role and sent the same message during its Presidency.
According to Lilyana Pavlova, despite all crises that the European Commission has gone through, it has succeeded in keeping its unity. One of the great assets that the European Commission will be remembered for is turning the EU into the trade, economic and global player that it had to be, Pavlova has said. Now Juncker made clear that not only the course has been found, but that Europe has become a global player, she has commented.
