Bulgaria's export of goods to the EU on the rise

The export of goods from Bulgaria to the EU increased by 10.7% in the period January-June 2018 compared to the same period in 2017 and amounted to BGN 18 104.5 million, Bulgaria’s National Statistical Institute reports. Bulgaria's main trading partners are Germany, Italy, Romania, Greece, France and Belgium, which account for 68.9% of the exports to the EU Member States.

Imports from the EU increased by 9.7% and amounted to BGN 19,826.3 million, with most imports coming from Germany, Italy, Romania, Spain and Greece.

Bulgaria's foreign trade balance with the EU for the period January-June is negative and equals BGN 1 721.8 million.
