World Rowing Championships end in Plovdiv

Four nations – Italy, USA, Germany and France, won three gold medals each at the World Rowing Championships (men) which closed in Plovdiv.

The first place in the overall rankings was claimed by the Italian rowers who won apart from the gold, four silver and one bronze medal. The Americans won the silver three times and the bronze – four times. They ended the race with the biggest number of medals.

Bulgaria scored its most successful performance on the last day of the competition. The newly formed men’s double scull – Kristian Vasilev and Boris Yotov, placed 12th in the scull rankings after the two finished 6th in Final B.

The President of the International Rowing Federation Jean-Christophe Rolland praised Bulgaria for the excellent organization of the Championships.
