In two years there will be a shortage of 10,000 teachers in the system of Bulgarian education, and after eight years shortage would reach - 39,000. This is what studies conducted by the Syndicate of Bulgarian Teachers showed, as results have been confirmed by the Ministry of Education and Science, chairman of the teachers’ union, Yanka Takeva, announced.

Most needed are teachers of mathematics, informatics, foreign languages ​, as well as primary school teachers. We have 1460 teachers working with 22,670 children and pupils with special educational needs. For three years now, the SBT, the Ministry of Education and the Together in Class Program aimed at positive changes in education have been preparing a program that would allow 600 people to undergo one-year training each year in order to gain pedagogical skills.
