Alpha Research: 63% of Bulgarians say media are dependent

Almost two-thirds (63%) of respondents in a nationally representative survey conducted by the Alfa Research sociological agency, commissioned by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, said Bulgarian media were dependent. According to 16% of respondents, the media are "completely dependent", while 47% say they are "rather dependent". Only 1 per cent say the media is completely independent, and 9 per cent think that journalists reflect events fairly. 28% believe that media in Bulgaria are "neither dependent nor independent," Dnevnik reports. 37 percent say that print editions are among the distributors of fake news. 3 percent say radio is among media spreading fake news.
