An exposition of model planes from World War 1 and 2 is arranged in the town of Lom, on the Danube. The exhibition marks the 75th anniversary since the death of prominent Bulgarian pilot Dimitar Spisarevski, who lived in Lom in the period 1919-1931. The collection contains also a model of Spisarevski’s plane – a Messerschmitt Bf-109G-2 (on the right). This is the plane she died in on December 20, 1943 after destroying a heavy American bomber Liberator B-24 by crushing into it. That happened during the bombing of the capital Sofia.  Photos: BTA
