Sofia Philharmonic orchestra returned from its first concert tour in China. The tour was a great success, covering three weeks and 12 cities – Beijing, Shanghai and Chengdu among others. Today the Tobacco town in Plovdiv launches the exhibition “Smoke. Stories about tobacco”. The idea belongs to art director of “Plovdiv 2019” Foundation – Svetlana Kuyumdjieva. The exposition tells the story of the city of Plovdiv through the prism of the tobacco industry in the region. It is a kind of introduction for foreign guests arriving today to attend the opening events of “PLovdiv 2019 – European capital of culture”.  Photo: BTA


Nine children from different parts of the country were distinguished in the second contest for drawings under the motto “My EDEN destination”, launched by the Ministry of Tourism. EDEN stands for European Destinations of Excellence. The goal of the project is to popularize the models for sustainable development of tourism in the countries of the European Union.
