Bulgaria’s capital Sofia hosts the 11th edition of the Sofia MENAR film festival. This year the festival is dedicated to feature films, documentaries and short projects from the Middle East, Central Asia and North Africa. The visitors of Sofia MENAR festival can enjoy 40 cinema productions selected among over 1,000 movie proposals. According to one of the criteria used during the selection of the film productions, the movies must be laureates at international film festivals in their region. The cinema nights, followed by discussions, are held each year from the middle until the end of January. Their purpose is to make the Bulgarian audience familiar with the culture and traditions of the Islam World.
