Bulgaria’s best tennis player Grigor Dimitrov dropped out of the Australian Open tournament. Dimitrov lost 7:5; 7:6 (8); 6:7 (1), 7:5 to Frances Tiafoe (USA) in the round of sixteen. Thus, the Bulgarian athlete left Australian Open one round earlier than in 2018 when he was defeated at the quarterfinals by Kyle Edmund (Great Britain). Tiafoe celebrated his 21st birthday with a win that will allow him to play his first Grand Slam quarterfinal.
