Eighteen young competitors are representing Bulgaria at the Special Olympics World Games, March 14 – 21, in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates.
More than 7,000 athletes have applied for participation in the 24 sports at the Games. The Special Olympics will be attended by over 3,000 official guests, 20,000 volunteers and an audience of almost 500,000. The Bulgarian athletes will be competing in 7 sports – athletics, bocce, badminton, equestrianism, swimming, triathlon and tennis.
