Meeting of Balkan countries over bid for hosting Euro 2028 and 2030 World Cup

A working meeting has been held in Belgrade over the joint bid of Bulgaria, Greece, Romania and Serbia for hosting World Cup 2030 and Euro 2028. The four football federations have reported they had discussed concrete steps for implementing the initiative. Emphasis was placed on the construction of sports facilities and infrastructure. The representative of the Bulgarian Football Union, Yordan Letchkov, has presented this country's ambitions to build new stadiums and facilities in order to meet the requirements of world and European football organizations. The next meeting of the four Balkan candidate countries with the participation of representatives of the sports ministries will be held on April 13 in Thessaloniki.
