The Bulgarian cabinet approved a project for adoption of a new Oil-Yielding Act. The act will ensure uniform national regulation for manufacture and procession of oil-yielding rose that would guarantee the quality of the Bulgarian rose oil. The Bulgarian farmers will grow plants only from certified seedlings. The adoption of the new act is due to the sharp increase of rose plantations with non-certified seedlings. The oil-yielding rose(Rosa damascena Mill. f. trigintipetala Dieck.) is of key significance for Bulgaria’s industry. It is planted for manufacture of rose oil, rose water and other products. There are a total of 100 rose-distilleries in Bulgaria. Nearly 99% of the rose oil produced in Bulgaria is exported. Bulgaria is a globally-recognized manufacturer and supplier of high-quality rose oil.
