The first out of the 20 thousand sturgeon fish, which WWF-Bulgaria released in the Danube River last month, have now reached the Black Sea waters. The three-months-old fish from this endangered species of Russian sturgeon took off from Belene Island in mid-June. It means that even though raised in aqua-cultures, they adapt well in their natural environment and the planting has been successful. Photos: © WWF


Veliko Tarnovo Municipality completed the last sites from the large-scale project “Attractive and preserved authentic urban environment”. Under the project 38 streets and squares in the old part of the town underwent thorough repair and refurbishing. The total amount of the investment came to over 11 million Leva, provided to the municipality from Operational Programme Regions in Growth 2014-2020.  Photos: veliko-tarnovo.bg


The Dobrich Regional Library, named after great Bulgarian poetess Dora Gabe, launched an exhibition dedicated to some of the best loved Bulgarian illustrators of children’s books. The exposition presents works by Academician Rumen Skorchev (1923-2015) and his daughter – Rossitsa Skorcheva. This poster exposition shows over 30 illustrations on books by well-known Bulgarian and foreign authors, like the Grim Brothers, Karel Čapek, Yordan Radichkov, Angel Karaliychev, Ran Bossilek among others.
