Eurostat: Bulgaria gave citizenship to 914 people from countries outside EU in 2017

Bulgaria has given citizenship to 914 citizens from countries outside the European Union. This is what the latest data from the European Statistical Office Eurostat, released today shows, referring to 2017. Most Bulgarian passports were issued to Ukrainian citizens - 204, followed by Russians - 174 and Turks - 110. By comparison, the biggest number of recipients of citizenship in the EU are citizens of Morocco, Albania, India and Turkey. Statistics also show that in 2017 thousands of Bulgarians became citizens of Western European countries. 1760 Bulgarians received citizenship in Germany, 1818 in the UK, 665 in Belgium, 535 in Italy, 334 in France.
