According to an inspection of the mobile laboratory of Kozloduy nuclear power plant, the gamma radiation levels along Bulgaria’s Northern Black Sea coast are normal. The mobile laboratory measured the gamma radiation levels in all towns and villages along the northern Black Sea coast between Shabla and Varna. We measured between 0.5 and 0.15 microsieverts of radiation per hour along the coast which is normal for Bulgaria, expert Alexander Rupchanski from Kozloduy NPP pointed out. The measurement was made in relation with the incident on August 8 when several people died in missile test near the town of Severodvinsk, Russia. The gamma radiation levels in this Russian town increased several times after the incident.
