A new subject (tour guides and animators) will open in the beginning of the academic year at the College of Tourism, which is part of the Burgas University due to the deficit of personnel in the tourism field. The students will study theory of tour operator and travel agent activity and will attend practical lessons as well. The course for tour guides will last for 3 years and the focus will be on learning practical skills. For the purpose, the students will have internships in travel companies. The college singed its first agreement for joint activity with a certain tourist site-Sredets municipality, where the ancient and medieval town of Deultum was discovered. Currently, it is an archaeological reserve, known as the oldest Roman colony on the Bulgarian lands.Deultum Photo: library
