Indonesian foreign minister pays first visit to Bulgaria in 25 years

The foreign ministers of Bulgaria and Indonesia Ekaterina Zaharieva and Retno Marsudi discussed, in Sofia, bilateral relations in investments, high-tech, trade, culture, education.

They ascertained a significant increase in trade, which went up by around 190 percent in 2018, and by over 300 percent over the first months of 2019. Tourist traffic has also gone up considerably – by 24 percent in 2018. This is the first visit to Bulgaria by a foreign minister of Indonesia in 25 years. The visit continues today with a bilateral business forum in Sofia.
