Bulgaria and Great Britain celebrate 140th years of diplomatic relations

I am firmly convinced that whatever the outcome, Brexit is not the end of the Bulgaria-Great Britain relations. The United Kingdom remains our partner, ally and friend in Europe, Bulgaria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva said. Minister Zaharieva unveiled together with the British Ambassador to Sofia Emma Hopkins a joint exhibition on occasion of the 140th anniversary since the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and the United Kingdom. The United Kingdom and Bulgaria cooperate successfully within the frameworks of the EU and uphold close positions in counterterrorism, healthcare, education and security and the fight against organized crime, Ekaterina Zaharieva underlined. Ambassador Hopkins described the bilateral ties between the two countries as deep and strong, especially with regard to the western Balkans, as well as being allies in NATO.
