In 7 member countries over half of this kind of waste is recycled, an 18 percent increase compared to 2018. In 2017 the highest recycling rate of plastic packaging waste was registered in Lithuania – 74 percent – with Bulgaria coming second at 65 percent, followed by Cyprus, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and the Netherlands at 50 percent. Bottom of the list is Malta - 24 percent - followed by Estonia, France and Finland at 27 percent each.
