"The Euro-Atlantic parties have a constitutional majority in the 48th National Assembly, but they are extremely opposed to each other. We will continue to defend and fight for a strong Bulgaria in the EU and NATO."

This statement was made by former President Rosen Plevneliev, who together with ex Foreign Minister Solomon Passy were part of the contact group nominated by GERB to negotiate with the parliamentary forces in search of opportunities for forming a cabinet with the first mandate. After today's meeting with the MRF the consultations ended.

On Saturday, Passy and Plevneliev met with representatives of GERB-UDF and "Bulgarian Rise". "BSP for Bulgaria", "We Continue the Change" and "Democratic Bulgaria" refused to participate in the talks, but informal talks were held with them. Only "Vazrazhdane" was not communicated with.
Tomorrow the contact group is expected to hand the final text of the declaration, which sets out the priorities on which the common positions on the programme of the future cabinet have been found, to the Speaker of Parliament Vejdi Rashidov.
