In connection with reports that a Bulgarian was arrested and accused of a planned assassination attempt in Crimea, the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that they are in contact with the Bulgarian consul in Moscow, but currently there was no information on the case.

The Bulgarian embassy in the Russian capital has sent a note with an official inquiry to the Russian side, but no answer has been received yet. Earlier, Russia's Federal Security Service announced that it had prevented a series of attacks against the administration and transport infrastructure of the Russian-occupied Crimean peninsula.

According to the announcement, among the detained Ukrainian intelligence servicemen there was also a person born in 1979, called D. Petranov, with Ukrainian and Bulgarian citizenship. He was allegedly in charge of the weapons and explosives supply group.
