Citizens of Bulgarian origin from seven countries will be able to apply for studying in Bulgarian universities, regardless of whether they have acquired Bulgarian citizenship or have a permanent residence permit in this country.

This is envisaged in an amendment to the decree that regulates the procedure for admission of students from the Bulgarian diaspora in Albania, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Moldova, North Macedonia, Serbia and Ukraine. The change foresees the exemption from application fees and tuition fees for PhD students from the 7 countries mentioned in the decree.
