The Bulgarian nomination for the Academy Awards Best International Feature Film is Blaga’s Lessons, directed by Stephan Komandarev.

The decision of the selection panel was unanimous, the National Film Centre says. The film about a recently widowed elderly woman who falls victim to telephone scammers recently won the Crystal Globe Grand Prix at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival, as well as the best actress award for Eli Skorcheva, who made a comeback after a 30-year absence from the screen.
