People have the right to protest, but the blockade of the whole city is unacceptable, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva has told bTV.

Commenting on the 21st day of protests in the capital city and the blockade of some of the city's crossroads, she said that Bulgaria was a democratic country and everyone had the right to protest, but blockades and attempts at civil arrests were unacceptable. According to Minister Zaharieva, civic society is one of the important controls on the government, but now there are far fewer people on the street than at the beginning of the protests.

It is irresponsible to demand resignations 6 months before the regular parliamentary elections. Democracy means elections every four years, the Minister added.
