Blockades with tent camps on key intersections downtown Sofia as a signal of discontent against Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev remain for 49th day. Today, activists of the civil association "Boets" have planned a protest action at the opening of the third route of the metro in the capital. They plan to ask Mayor Yordanka Fandakova questions related to poor infrastructure repairs, public procurement procedures, over-construction, etc., BNR reporters informed.

Meanwhile, counter-protesters have launched a petition, which is being spread on social media, for the impeachment of President Rumen Radev. At the moment, there are over 9,000 collected signatures, according to a report by Radio Bulgaria. According to the counter-protesters, the President has caused "chaos in relations between the institutions", "called on the people to riot" and "supported foreign policy distancing Bulgaria from the EU and NATO's leading partner countries".

Last night a protest march demanding the resignation of the government was held in the city of Burgas. About twenty protesters ended their rally in the Sea Garden of the city, BNR-Burgas reported.

In Varna, protesters were throwing eggs at the NFSB's local office after the party announced it was giving GERB its support for filing a draft amendment to the Constitution. The tent camp in front of the municipality announced that they would join the mass protest in Sofia on September 2.
