Covid-19 vaccine technology has been known since 2008

It is not true that the coronavirus vaccine was made too quickly and has not been tested enough, Dr. Trifon Valkov from the Hospital of Infectious Diseases in Sofia has told bTV. He added that the technology has been known since 2008 and now it is possible to create vaccines based on this model. "From a biological point of view, this is one of the purest vaccines that medicine has," the doctor said. He added that during the immunization, the typical side effects of all vaccines could emerge - redness at the injection site and higher body temperature for a day or two.

13% of Covid-19 test results for past day are positive

340 new cases of coronavirus have been registered in the past 24 hours after a total of 2,585 tests performed. 181 positive cases were registered with PCR and 159 with antigen tests, according to official data. This means that 13% of tested samples returned positive result. The highest number of newly infected people is in Sofia - 94, followed by Ruse - 23, Pleven - 21, the Sofia region - 19, Plovdiv -18 and Varna - 18. A total of 1124 people recovered and 40 people died. 4,786 patients are being treated in hospitals as 458 of them are in intensive care wards. Covid-19 ward in Svishtov remains without volunteers

Shifts of medical students, who helped as volunteers in the treatment of patients with coronavirus for a month and a half at the municipal hospital in Svishtov, end today. Five medical students and a trainee doctor responded to the appeal of the Svishtov hospital for help. "It would be difficult for us without their support, we would wait for them to graduate and return to the Svishtov hospital as young doctors," the hospital's head nurse Vanya Lambeva has told BNR. The number of patients with coronavirus in Svishtov has been declining and there are currently 20 patients in the Covid wards.

Coronavirus delays completion of lawsuits

The coronavirus epidemic and related measures have led to fewer completed civil cases and to delays in the Pleven District Court. About 70 percent of the cases at first instance were completed within three months, which is 5 percent less compared to the previous year. There is also a decline in the number of completed cases at second instance and decline in the number of cases completed within three months, the data show.
