On the occasion of the 85th anniversary of the first broadcasts of the Bulgarian National Radio abroad their successor - "Radio Bulgaria" launched a quiz with questions about Bulgarian culture and history.
In its first edition we asked you: "Which historical event do you associate Bulgaria’s National Day – March 3 with?"
By 15:00 on April 16, the majority of voters (51% ) correctly marked that this was the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878 that brought freedom to the Bulgarian people and marked the beginning of the Third Bulgarian state. Only the Albanian-speaking users of our site found the question a bit more difficult and chose "The Declaration of Bulgarian Independence in 1908". In fact, this same answer was a reason for hesitation among Radio Bulgaria’s friends speaking Spanish, English, German and Russian.
